Pictured at the check presentation, were, from left: Anna Chapin,
assistant director, Jewish Welfare Federation's Endowment Fund;
Robert Slatkin; Sarah Deitch; and Dr. Morton Plotnick, executive
director, Jewish Community Center.
Sarah Deitch, president of the
Northwest Child Rescue
Women, presented a $40,000
check to Robert Slatkin,
president of the Jewish Com-
munity Center of Metropolitan
Detroit, establishing the first
endowment for the Programs for
the Retarded, coordinated by the
Center.
This gift, in addition to the
$20,000 annual gift from the
Rescue
Northwest Child
Women, Senior and Junior Di-
visions, provides a significant
portion of the costs to provide
this program.
In addition, the group and the
Center have established a fund
to which ongoing contributions
can be made to further support
the Programs for the Retarded.
Contributions may be made
and acknowledgements will be
noted in the Center's monthly
publication on an ongoing basis.
