Gemara At Oak-Woods

The Shabbat Gemara study
session at Young Israel of
Oak-Woods is now under the di-
rection of Rabbi Eliezer Finkel-
man, announced Phillip
Oak-Woods
Applebaum,
president.
Rabbi Finkelman, a member
of Oak-Woods, is a native of the
Bronx, N.Y. He was ordained at
the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan
Theological Seminary of
Yeshiva University, and earned
a B.A. degree in English at
Yeshiva U. He also did post-
graduate work at the City Uni-
versity of New York (CUNY).
He was an instructor in

English at -Yeshiva U. and at
Lehman College (CUNY). He
also served as assistant princi-
pal of the Ulpanot Orot girls'
school in Toronto, Ont. He and
his family came to Detroit in
1978 when he assumed the di-
rectorship of the B'nai B'rith
Hillel Foundation of Wayne
State University, a post he still
holds.
The Gemara class meets about
one hour before Minchah service
each Shabbat. The group is cur-
rently studying in the Tractate
Bava Kama.

2 packages (10 oz. each) frozen
chopped broccoli
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan
cheese
1,: cup finely chopped onion

1 medium clove garlic, crushed
1/4 cup chopped red or green peppers
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
2 cans (15 oz. each) Chef Boy-ar-dee
Cheese Ravioli in Sn.uce

Cook broccoli according to package directions; drain well. Add
Parmesan cheese and mix well. Sauté onion, garlic and peppers in
butter until lightly browned; combine with broccoli. Place Ravioli
in saucepan over low heat; stir occasionally until thoroughly
heated. Add half of the broccoli mixture to Ravioli; save half for
garnish. Arrange in shallow or 11/2 quart serving dish. Garnish
edge with remaining broccoli. Serves 4 to 6.
