Rejections

Tel Aviv (JTA) — Romania's
Chief Rabbi, Moshe Rosen, has
rejected applications by many
Romanian villagers to be con-
verted to Judaism, Israel Radio
reported.
Rosen said the villagers, from
isolated villages in Transyl-
vania, had never had any con-
nections with Jews or Jewry. It
is believed they wish to convert
so that it will be easier for them
to emigrate.
