Torah Award from the Beth
Yehudah Schools at their 71st
annual banquet on Nov. 24 at
the Fairlane Manor. Cocktails
will be served at 6 and dinner at
7 p.m.
The dinner will mark the first
time two individuals receive the
Golden Torah award in the
same year.
Dinner chairmen are Ivan
Bloch, David Holtzma and I.
William Sherr.
Partrich and Shapiro have
jointly supported numerous
Jewish, social welfare, medical,
civic and educational causes in
the Detroit area as well as a
myriad of similar causes in Is-
rael. They have held leadership
positions in the local United
Jewish Appeal-Jewish Welfare
Federation campaign and Israel
Bond drive. They have been
active participants in the
Holocaust Memorial Center.
Both partners have given
broadly to various campaigns
and appeals of their respective
alma mater, Partrich at the
Wayne State School of Law and
Shapiro at Michigan State.
Shapiro has served actively at
Cong. B'nai David and Partrich
and his family are members of
Temple Beth El.

Hebrew school network which
provides secular and religious
education to 600 students on
Ross University School of
Medicine and School of Veteri-
nary Medicine will have an open
house from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Saturday in the schools' regional
office, 28475 Greenfield, Suite
220, Southfield.
Prospective students will be
able to meet with an admissions
office, other students and
alumni. '
A film about the school, nar-
rated by E.G. Marshall, will be
shown.
The schools, whose campuses
are located on the Carribbean
islands of St. Kitts and
Dominica, have clinical rota-
tions at hospitals in Michigan.
