Shabbos is Coming: echoes
the thrill experienced in both
observing the. Sabbath and con-
stantly awaiting its arrival.
Ruth Lipsor teaches the young
reader the 'manner in which the
days of the week are called —
numerically — Yoth Rishon,
Yom Sheni, and so on. In that
way the young reader- learns a
few Hebrew words. Then comes
the Sabbath and the glory at-
tached to it. There is so much
joy in the Sabbath observance
that its departure is regretted,
but awaiting the next one re-
news the joy.
Shabbos is Coming: is well
illustrated by Nurit Tzarfati.
Almost like a sequel is The
Dink That Stopped the Clock,
story and illustrations by
Chaiky Halpern.The Dink is a
guard in a cheerful castle who is
always frowning. His surly
mood was a direct result of the
