The Michigan Opera Theatre
will launch its 1985-1986 season
in Detroit today at its new home
in the Fisher Theatre, with a dou-
ble bill of two Italian operas, Puc-
cini's Gianni Schicchi and Leon-
cavallo's I Pagliacci. The event
coincides with the company's 15th
anniversary season of producing
opera in Michigan.
' Performances will be today and
Saturday at 8 p.m., Sunday at
6:30 p.m., Wednesday at 1:30
p.m., and next Oct. 18 and Oct. 19
at 8 p.m. For ticket information,

Slates Lectures
The Center for New Thinking
in Birmingham will present a
lecture by Rabbi Sherwin Wine
titled "Living with the Unex-
pected: Cooperating with Sur-
prise" 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the
auditorium at Somerset Mall.
Rabbi Wine will speak on taxes
and tax reform 10 a.m. Thursday
in the mall auditorium.
