As part of its fall schedule of
community education programs,
Sinai Hospital of Detroit will
sponsor "Focus on Women: A
Series on Women's Health." The
series is held at Sinai's Zucker-
man Auditorium and at Orchard
Lake Middle School. The Thurs-
day programs are co-sponsored
by the West Bloomfield Schools
Community Education Depart-
ment.
On Wednesday, "Designing a
Unique Birth Experience" will
be the topic of a panel to be
moderated by Dr. David B.
Schwartz, chief of maternal and
fetal medicine. Panelists will in-
clude Dr. Donald R. Blitz, and
Dr. Alan D. Goldsmith of obstet-
rics and gynecology.
On Thursday, "Coping With
Loneliness and Being Alone"
will be discussed by Hazel Kar-
bel of Sinai's department of psy-
chiatry.
"Pregnancy After 30: Measur-
ing the Risks" will be the Oct.
16 topic. Dr. Schwartz and
Joanna Copes, Sinai's clinical
nurse specialist in perinatology,
will talk about the issues of age,
fertility and good outcome in
pregnancy after age 30.
On Oct. 23, and Nov. 7 "Cop-
ing with Pre-Menstrual Syn-
drome and Dysmenorrhea "" will
be explored by Dr. Robert
Chaitin of the department of
obstetrics and gynecology.
"The Delicate Balance: Man-
aging Self, Family and Career"
will be the topic of Dr. Barbara
Conway and Dr. Susan Dar-
lington, both of Sinai's Problems
of Daily Living Clinic.
"Lessons in Successful Aging"
is the subject of Dr. Chaitin and
Dr. Jeffrey G. Obron of obstet-
rics and gynecology, and Dr:
Steven Baum of the Problems of
Daily Living Clinic on Nov. 6.
All programs begin at 7:30
p.m., and are free and open to
the public.

Nursing Homes
Get Kosher Meals
At the request of Rabbi
Menachem Greenfield, Meals on
Wheels has donated 50 holiday
meals to Jewish residents at the
following nursing homes: Cam-
bridge South and Oakland Care
in Southfield, Alexander in
Royal Oak and Georgian Bloom=
field in Bloomfield Hills.
Rabbi Greenfield is the leader
of Ezras Cholim of Greater De-
troit and is an instructor at
Yeshivath Beth Yehudah.
Kosher Meals on Wheels is
sponsored by the National
Council of Jewish Women,
Greater Detroit Section in coop-
eration with Jewish Family
Service and Jewish Federation
Apartments. Meals on Wheels
Chairman is Baba Kaufman.
