usually get the opportunity to
do a role they had done years
ago."
The political figure he conveys
on stage is far from alien to Bos-
ley. Bosley at one time consid-
ered being a lawyer, taking
pre-law at De Paul University
before dropping out. After all,
he says wryley, "there is a tre-
mendous correlation between a
lawyer and an actor."
Bosley is outspoken when it
comes to politics. "One of the
greatest mistakes in the last 30
years is the killing off of big-city
machines. Sure, there were
crooks, but the cities ran better.
Since (Chicago Mayor Richard)
Daily died, the city has been
crumbling."
Though Bosley is willing to
talk about politics, he is not in-
terested in tossing his hat in the
arena. "My desire in life is to be
less complicated than Ed
Asner's life," he says about ac-
tivist Asner. "I have never
entertained any kind of political
aspirations. I'm the type who
can sit back and tell what's
wrong with the country and not
do anything about it."

Harp Contest
Held In Israel

Jerusalem — Naoko Yoshino
was the first prize winner in Is-
rael's Ninth International Harp
Competition, the only such harp
contest in the world. Recitals
during the week-long competi-
tion were held in Jerusalem and
Tel Aviv.
She was the youngest of 33
polished participants who came
from Canada, Romania, Ven-
ezuela, the United States, Au-
stria, Switzerland, Italy, Brazil,
Japan, France, Korea, Yugos-
lavia, Wales, England and Chile
in order to demonstrate their
unique art.
The International Harp
Competition was founded in
1959 by the late Aharon Zvi
Propes. The contest was in-
tended to encourage the ad-
vancement of the harp as a solo
instrument, to induce composers
to produce more pieces for the
harp, raise the standard of harp
playing and, finally, to bring
players of the harp into promi-
nence.
