Seniors To Hear
Art Historian

Active adults will hear art
historian Sybil Mintz at 1 p.m.
July 25 in the library of the
main Jewish Community Cen-
ter. She will give a slide pre-
sentiftion on "Chagall — Genius
of 20th Century Art." Luncheon
will be served at noon in room
239. There is a charge.
A bus trip for senior adults
will take place Aug. 8. The des-
tination is Independence Oaks
(County Park). Participants
should bring a brown bag lunch.
Dessert and beverage will be in-
cluded. There is a fee for the
bus.

Registration is being taken for
a senior adult book review
group to begin in the fall at the
main Jewish Center. For infor-
mation and to register, call Ms.
Samson.
The Jewish Center senior
adult department will sponsor a
talk by Jean Epstein, director of
admissions at the Jewish Home
for Aged, at 1 p.m. Tuesday in
the assembly hall of the Morris
Branch of the Center. Admission
is free. The program is sup-
ported by a grant from Area
Agency on Aging, 1-B.
The American Cancer Society
will sponsor a four-part lecture
series beginning at 1 p.m. July
12 in the Morris Branch assem-
bly hall. Bev Peiss, a nut-
ritionist with the Oakland
County Health Department, will
speak on "Diet and Cancer."
Admission is free and all senior
adults are invited. The project is
supported by a grant from the
Area Agency on Aging, 1-B.

Federation Wins
Business Awards

The Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion of Detroit won two awards
at the 1985 IABC (International
Association of Business Com-
municators) Detroit Chapter
Renaissance Awards Competi-
tion.
The JWF brochure, From

Generation to Generation . . .
The Federated Endowment
Fund, earned an awards of ex-

cellence in the special print
communication category. Hon-
orable mention went to Federa-
tion for its slide show, Partners.
The slide show and brochure
were written by Charlotte Du-
bin, director of Federation's pub-
lic relations department. Mary
Lou Johnson was technical di-
rector of the slide show, and
Dick DeRonne was designer of
the brochure.

Parent Class

Providence Hospital will pre-
sent a free program, "Make
Room for Baby" with new and
experienced parents. Classes
will be held at 10 a.m. the first
four Thursdays of every month
in the Providence Medical build-
ing.
