Vocalist Helen Rowin will be
the featured performer at the
Pioneer Women/Naamat
Spiritual Adoption luncheon to
be held July 25 at Hamilton
Place.
Mrs. Rowin holds degrees in
English composition, music and
library science. She has ap-
peared extensively in concert
and in musical theater, doing
the leads in such shows as Guys
and Dolls, Damn Yankees, and
The Telephone, among others.
Currently, she is taking her
"one-woman cabarets" around
the United States and Canada.
One of her special interests is
the American musical theater
and she has taught several
courses in its history and de-
velopment.
She has studied' voice with
John McCollum and Eva
Likova, and has • taught' voice
herself.
Bernie Katz, Detroit area
pianist and accompanist, will
assist at the piano.
The luncheon is held annually
to raise funds for the spiritual
adoption program of Pioneer
Women/Naamat. A "Woman of
Valor" award will be presented
to .'a woman in' the community
who has shown outstanding
leadership in the area of child
welfare.

Faxon Appointed

State Sen. Jack Faxon (D-15th
Dist.) of Farmington Hills has
been appointed to the 14-
member board of trustees of the
Library of Michigan by the
Legislative Council.
