11. He leaves his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Charles (Myra) Adler; -a sis-

and Mrs. Joseph T. (Mary) Adler.
She leaves a son, Jack; two sisters,
Mrs. Burt (Ceil) Homburger of
Bay . City and Mrs. Frances
Ehrlich of Palm Springs, Calif.;
and five grandchildren.
IDA D. ARFA, 79, died May 14.
HARRY BASKIN, 76, died May
10. He leaves a son, Bernard; a
daughter, Mrs. Melvin (Geral-
dine) Binder; a sister, Mrs. Irving
(Shirley) Chelnek of California;
ten grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.

ALEC DAVIS, 81, died May 12.
He leaves his wife, Molly; two
daughters, Ms. Marguerite Davis
Amberlands of Croton-on-
Hudson, N.Y., and Mrs. Joyce
Gurman; a brother, Julius; and
two grandchildien.
MARJORIE E. FANTICH, 59,
former Detroiter of Houston, Tex.,
died May 10. She is survived by
her husband, Milton; four sons,
Barry, Don, Jim and Stanley, all
of Houston; a daughter, Cindy of
Houston; a brother, Barney Ales
of Los Angeles, Calif.; ten grand-
children and one great-grand-
child. Interment Houston.
EDWIN FRANK FRIEDMAN,
44, died May 7. Survived by his
mother, Mrs. Szerene Friedman of
Brighton.
B.D. Askenazy
B. David Askenazy, a civil
engineer with offices in Troy, died
May 8 at age 46.
Born in Detroit, Mr. Askenazy
was a member of Cong. Shaarey
Zedek, a graduate of Cornell Uni-
versity and a member of the
Michigan Master Swimmers
Association.
Mr. Askenazy lived up to a fam-
ily tradition of identification with
the Labor Zionist movement. Al-
though he was born two months
after his father's death, he was
taught and adhered to his father's
major devotions in Jewish life as
the legacies were passed on to him
by his mother, shared by her pre-
sent husband Wolf Snyder.
He leaves his wife, Hinda; two
daughters, Lisa and Michelle; a
son, Gershon; his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Wolf (Esther) Snyder; two
sisters, Mrs. Leah Blizman and
Mrs. Tova Milinsky.
Alex Sklar, 74
Alex Sklar, owner of Penn Fur-
niture in Dearborn, died May 11
at age 74.
Born in Russia, Mr. Sklar was
in the furniture business for 47
years. He was the past president
of the Furniture Club, a life board
member of the Jewish Home for
Aged, a member of Perfection
Lodge of the Masons, B'nai B'rith,
the Pinsker Progressive Aid
Society, and was past president of
the Mercantile Division of Allied
Jewish Campaign.
He is survived by a son, Lawr-
ence; two daughters, Mrs. Laur-
ence (Paula) Berger and Mrs.
Louis Sklar-Carson; a sister,
Sophie Goldberg; and nine grand-
children.
BETTY GELMAN, 68, died May
8. Survived by her husband, Max;
a son, Michael Kromirs; two
daughters, Aileen and Mrs. Roy
(Beverly) Ceresnie; a brother,
Isek Lundin; three sisters, Sonia
Lundin of Russia, Golda Usher of
Russia, Jenny Jernovckaya of
Chicago, Ill.; and two grand-
children.
STUART ALLEN GITTLE-
MAN, 38, of Farmington Hills,
died May 10. Survived by his
mother, Mrs. Pearl Gittleman; a
brother, Murray; a sister, Mrs.
Herbert (Gloria) Woolman; and
nieces and nephews.
DR. ALFRED GOLDFADEN,
64, of Detroit, died May 11. Sur-
vived by his wife, Elizabeth; two
sons, Daniel of Oak Park, Ill., and
Richard A.; seven daughters, Su-
san, Ruth, Tamara, Mrs. Melvin
(Jacqueline) Morganroth of Ann
Arbor, Mrs. Rodney (Rebecca)
King, Judith Janavikas and
Rachel; three brothers, Herman,
Louis and Jerry; a sister, Mrs.
Samuel (Freda) Katz of Houston,
Tex.; and eight grandchildren.
DORA HARRISON, 87, former
Detroiter of Dunedin, Fla., died
May 10. She leaves two sons,
Harry of Dunedin, Fla., and Her-
man of Clearwater, Fla.; seven
grandchildren and nine great-
grandchildren. Interment De-
troit.
BESSIE LIBERMAN, 85, of
Farmington Hills, died May 10.
Survived by four daughters, Mrs.
Emil (Helen) Jacobs, Mrs. Abe
(Rose) Geller of Tamarac, Fla.,
Mrs. Charles (Jean) Wilson of
Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Arthur
(Gloria) Karasick of Van Nuys,
Calif.; a brother, Bernard H.
Cooper; seven grandchildren and
two great-grandchildren.
ALEXANDER LIEBERMAN,
73, died May 13. He leaves his
wife, Sally; a son, Harvey; two
daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Norma)
Copley and Mrs. Kenneth (Rona)
Boyer; three sisters, Mrs. Samuel
(Lillian) Hechtman, Mrs. Joseph
(Eleanor)-Dorfman and Mrs. Mor-
rie (Rose) Wolok; two brothers,
Irving and Sidney; and seven
grandchildren.
YALE LOPATIN, 64, of
Windsor, Ont., died May 7. Sur-
vived by his wife, Shirley; a son,
Stephen; a daughter, Ilene of San
Francisco, Calif.; two brothers,
Albert of Detroit and Lawrence.
Interment Windsor.
RETTIA MERETSKY, 79, died
May 12. She leaves a son, Monte; a
daughter, Mrs. Stanley (Beverly)
Cohen; a brother, Harry Oaks of
Florida; three grandchildren and
two great-grandchildren.
JACOB RESNICK, 96, died May
12. He leaves two sons, Felix and
Cantor Sidney; a sister, Mrs.
Louis (Frieda) Robinson of Bos-
ton, Mass.; and four grand-
children.
