Batya Chapter, Amit Women,
Will have a cocktail party and
utdoor barbecue at 6:30 p.m.
!June 26 at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Gerald Borsand, 211 Lowell
bt., Bloomfield Hills.
Proceeds from the party will go
to Amit Women's Childhaven in
Jerusalem. The international
women's organization sponsors a
.network of technological and reli-
gious high schools in Israel, as
Well as youth aliyah villages,
'community centers and children's
homes. Currently, the organiza-
ti on is helping the absorption of
8thiopian Jewish children.
Entertainment will be provided
by Cantor Benzion Miller of Cong.

the affair. She is assisted by
Janice Berkower, Eileen Borsand,
Miriam Ferber and Ellen Must,
co-chairmen. Fran Rogers and
Rosa Lesser are co-presidents of
the chapter.
The program committee also
includes Fanny Adelsberg, Toby
Albert, Molly Belen, Dolores
Brown, Margie Burstyn, Ruth Gi-
lan, Lila Goldman, Penny
Greenstein, Renee Gunsberg, Ceil
Liebman, Ruth Mittelman, Karen
Nussbaum, Lucille' Ruby, Toby
Schlussel, Myra Selesny and
Brocha Stein.

Z Sisterhood Elects
Helene Cherrin President

Helene Cherrin

The sisterhood of Cong.
'Shaarey Zedek installed Helene
Cherrin as president at the
women's recent installation pro-
gram. Rabbi Irwin Groner was the
installing officer and the invoca-
tion was recited by Rabbi Ken-
neth L. Cohen.
The executive committee in-
cludes Shirley Ruzumna, Sandra
Schwartz, Anita Millman, Mari-
lyn Rollinger, Bernice Kernis,
Frieda Olen, Lesley Schneider,

Lois Nelson, Phyllis Robinson and
Gail Goodstein.
Mrs. Cherrin is a member of the
synagogue's board of trustees, a
regular usher at its Sabbath
morning services, and fulfills
many duties as President of the
sisterhood. She is instrumental in
boosting the attic treasures sale
at the annual Shaarey Zedek
Women's World event. She serves
the Women's League for Conser-
vative Judaism as a member of its
board of directors and as chair-
man of its Jewish family living
committee. She is a life member of
National Council of Jewish
Women and continues to support
Hadassah, Women's American
ORT, Jewish Welfare Federation
and Sinai Hospital Guild.
