Detroit Alumni Chapter, Alpha
Omega International Dental
Fraternity, and the Detroit Auxil-
iary of Alpha Omega will hold a
joint installation dinner-dance at
7 p.m. Saturday at the Bay Pointe
Country Club.
Dr. Allen Rubin will be in-
stalled as the 56th president of the
Detroit Chapter.
A graduate of the University of
Detroit and the Northwestern
University Dental School, Dr.
Rubin served one year in Detroit
Receiving Hospital's dental ex-
ternship program, prior to service
in the U.S. Dental Corps.
Following Army duty, Dr.
Rubin was accepted for a one-year
internship in general anesthesia
at the University of Pittsburgh,
for which he earned the designa-
tion of, Certified Dental Anes-
thetist.
He served on many chapter
committees and received the
Alumni Chapter Efficiency
Award in 1982.
Officers to be installed with Dr.
Rubin are: Dr. Marvin Sonne,
president-elect; Dr. Mark Luria,
treasurer; Dr. Henry Citron,
treasurer-elect; Dr. Arnold Gart-
ner, recording secretary; Dr. Fred
Fischer, corresponding secretary;

Dr. Leo Shipko, past interna-
tional president, will be master of
ceremonies. Dr. Norman Segal
will present a special toast to
honor the fraternity on the occa-
sion of its 60th anniversary.
Other special guests include Dr.
Richard Williams, international
treasurer, and Dr. Allan Warnick,
regent.
Laura Miller will be installed
as president of the auxiliary. A
member since 1975, Mrs. Miller
has served as a board member and
on many committees, performed
in the last AO show, Damn
Tanker, and held the offices of
corresponding secretary, finan-
cial secretary, treasurer and
president-elect.
She has been involved with
other organizations including the
Children's Leukemia Foundation,
Jewish Welfare Federation and
Temple Israel.
Officers to be installed with her
are: Lorie Horowitz, president-
elect; Lori Roth, treasurer;
Marsha Feldhandler, correspond-
ing secretary; Claudia
Hirschman. financial secretary;

Lecture On Israel Politics

Dr. Yosef Goell, political
analyst for the Jerusalem Post
and lecturer in Israel politics at
the Hebrew University of
Jerusalem, will speak on "Israeli
Politics In Transition" on May 13
at 8 p.m. at the Jimmy Prentis
Morris Branch of the Jewish
Community Center.
The program, which is free and
open to the community, is spon-
sored by the Jewish Community
Council of Metropolitan Detroit

and the Detroit Zionist Federa-
tion.
Dr. Goell has studied at
Yeshiva University, City College
of New York and the Hebrew
University, and holds a doctorate
in political science from Columbia
University. He was a foreign
correspondent for the Israeli daily
Maariv before taking his resent
position at the Post. Dr. Goell was
born in New York City and made
aliyah in 1948.
