Musical Program
For JNF Women
Women of Jewish National
Fund will have their opening
spring meeting on Tuesday at
noon at Temple Emanu-El.
Bess Axelrod, program vice
president, announces the women
will celebrate Jewish Music
Month with a musical mosiac
featuring Marci Shulman. Her
accompanist will be Lillian
Zellman.
Ms. Shulman began studying
voice at age 10 with Shoshana
Friedman. At age 15, she studied
with Avery Crew of Wayne State
University and Cantor David
Bagley, of the former Cong. Beth
Aaron, and shortly thereafter was
awarded a scholarship from the
Music Study Club of Metropolitan
Detroit.
She studied drama at Will-0-
Way Apprentice Theater in
Bloomfield Hills and performed in
the musical, Carousel at age 17.
She began singing as a cantorial
soloist in Ann Arbor about nine
years ago and, for the past four
years, has conducted High Holy
Day services and is presently an
understudy of Cantor Harold Or-
bach at Temple Israel.
The invocation will be given by
Ann Wohl. Mrs. Axelrod is pro-
gram chairman of the day. Cake
and coffee will be served. The pub-
lic is invited.
Jabotinsky Society
Gathering Planned
The Jabotinsky Society of
Herut Zionists of America will
have a meeting at 8 p.m. March 23
at the Jimmy Prentis Morris
Branch of the Jewish Community
Center.
Deputy Knesset Speaker Moshe
Meron will be the guest speaker.
An Israeli movie will be shown.
Refreshments will be served.
The public is invited at a nominal
charge.
