World" concert for women only on
Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at
Southfield-Lathrup High School,
a number of local women repre-
senting various organizations
will be honored for their commu-
nity service.
Awards will be presented to

President Esther Applebaum of
the B'nai B'rith Women's Council
of Metropolitan Detroit, Lucia
Robiner of the Detroit League of
National Jewish Hospital - Na-
tional Asthma Center, Mrs. Nor-
man Cutler of the Lubavitch
Women's Organization, Bessie
Chase of the David-Horodoker
Women's Organization, Mollie
Lapides of Women's American
ORT, Frances Brown of Women's
Bicur Cholem and Shirley Kraft
of Women of Jewish National
Fund.
In response to the Lubavitch
Women's Aishet Chayil contest, a
special award will be presented to
Pearlena Bodzin, who is active
wih Cong. B'nai Moshe, Akiva
Hebrew Day School and com-
munal organizations.
One of the highlights of the con-
cert, starring Jocelyn Ruth
Krieger and orchestra, will be
performances by two girls' choirs.
The Beth Jacob School Girls
Choir, directed by 12th grader
Frumie Moseson and accom-
panied by pianist Gila Roberg,
consists of 40 girls from seventh to
12th grades. They will sing a
variety of songs in Hebrew and
English. The 25 member Tzivos
Hashem Girls Choir under the
leadership of Judy Karbal, will
perform the opening and closing
numbers of the show.
A limited number of tickets are

Midrasha Offers
Spring Courses

The Midrasha College of Jewish
Studies begins its spring semester
Monday. Courses will be offered
in Jewish history, literature, Yid-
dish, rabbinics and other subjects.
The new courses, available dur-
ing both daytime and evening
hours, will be held at the main
building of the United Hebrew
Schools, 21550 W. 12 Mile Rd.,
Southfield.
