Rokeach Sponsors
Youth Essay Contest
I. Rokeach and Co., has in-
itiated the first "Think Kosher"
contest to be sponsored under the
auspices of the Natiollal Confer-
ence of Synagogue Youth (NCSY),
the youth arm of the Orthodox
Union.
Contestants in the junior (age
9-13) and senior (age 14-18) di-
visions are invited to creatively
interpret the theme "Think
Kosher" in one of three mediums
of a photo, poster or essay. The
contest is open to public and - day
school ' students; members of
NCSY as well as non-members.
A total of 18 prizes of schol-
arship money to attend an Ameri-
can or Israeli educational institu-
tion, or to participate in any
NCSY event (i.e. national conven-
tion, Shabbatonim, tours and
events) will be awarded. All con-
testants will receive a com-
plimentary copy of NCSY's newly
reprinted "Guide to Blessings."
The deadline for entries is May
20. Winning essays, photos and
posters will be printed and pub-
lished in the Summer issue of
Keeping Posted, NCSY's news-
paper and announced in Jewish
Action, the newsmagazine of the
Orthodox Union.
