bined board and general meeting
on Jan. 6 at noon at the Northgate
East apts. club house. Continen-
tal brunch will be served, followed
by a business session. Members
will be admitted at no charge.

SINGLES 2 (age 40-55) will hold
it's first meeting and social of

COMMUNITY NETWORK
FOR JEWISH SINGLES an-
nounces its Chai Singles Ski Club
is still accepting members. There

Boyne Mountain Ski Resort
will be the scene of a New Year's
weekend of downhil and cross-
country skiing outing today
through Tuesday. There is a fee.

Ongoing cross-country skiing
takes place 10 a.m. Sundays at
Beech Woods Recreation Area,
Southfield. There is a fee. The
Jan. 13 outing will be at Highland
Recreation Area.
On Jan. 20, the group will go
downhill skiing at Alpine Valley,
meeting at 9 a.m. at the main
Jewish Community Center for
carpools. A trip to Boyne High-
lands for downhill and cross-
country skiing is planned for Feb.
1-3. Cross-country skiing is
planned for Feb. 10.

FOR WOMEN

Some openings exist for the
CNJS bowling league which
meets at 8 p.m. every other Sun-
day at Ark Lanes West. For de-
tails, call Mark Sperling, 352-
3333.
CNJS will have a Super Bowl
Sunday party 5 p.m. Jan. 20 at the
main Jewish Center. There will
be a wide screen television, free
snacks, prizes and more. There is
an admission fee. Tickets are
available at the front desk of the
Center and at the door beginning
at 4 p.m. For information, call the
CNJS.

FOR MEN

TEMPLE
BETH EL
BROTHERHOOD won two
awards at the 30th National Fed-
eration of Temple Brotherhoods
(NFTB) Bienniel Convention held
in November in Boston. The
brotherhood won awards in the
large club class, signifying a
membership more than 300. The
awards won are: the J. Jacques
Stone Plaque for service to the
temple and the Publication
Award (co-winner).

BROTHERHOOD will present a
program at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 20 in
the temple. Jerry Rogers will
comment on the film NBC in
Lebanon —A Study in Media Mis-
representation. There is a nominal

Finalists named

Peg Treacy, left, and Harriet Israel, will give a presentation entitled,
"Color Me Beautiful," at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 9 in the offices of the Greater
Detroit Section, National Council of Jewish Women, 30233 South field,

named finalists in the 28th An-
nual Michigan Mathematics
Prize Competition, finishing in
the top 5 percent in the state-wide
competition.
The finalists included: Ethan
