packed and delivered to homebound individuals five
days a week by volunteers.

ORCHARDS CHILDREN'S SERVICES provides a
range of psychological services for troubled children
and their families as well as education programs for
the general community.

(separated, widowed and divorced) through support
groups, workshops and retreats.

SISTER ANN GILLEN, National Director Interreli-
gious Task Force for Soviet Jews
YURI SHTERN from Israel, former "Refusnik" from
the Soviet Union Activist in Israel for Jews refused
emigration from the Soviet Union.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) works
with professionals on behalf of children who are
temporary and permanent wards of the court.

GREATER DETROIT ACCESS GUIDE — a direc-
tory of accessible facilities for the handicapped and
the elderly.

VICTIM SERVICE COUNCIL is an outreach pro-
gram to victims of crime offering referral and support
service.

FRIENDLY VISITORS visit isolated Jewish resi-
dents of the Madonna Nursing Home.

consultants, will demonstrate color analysis, give
tips on planning a: basic wardrobe and packing for a
trip. Space is limited. Reservations must be accom-
panied by a check.

LITERATURE SERIES

Dr. Larry Berkove, Professor of English and Ameri-
can Literature, University of Michigan-Dearborn, will
conduct a four-part series of lectures entitled "Reli-
gious Themes in American Short Stories."

All lectures will be at the NCJW office.
Fee for the series will be $12 members,
$16 non-members. Pre-registration required.

COMMUNITY
SERVICES

EDUCATION ASSISTANCE awards interest free
loans and grants to needy Jewish students for
undergraduate and graduate study.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Dedicated to meeting human needs and improving
the quality of life for people of all ages, races and
religious backgrounds.

BURN PREVENTION utilizes an animated film strip
and colorful brochure to alert children in kindergar-
ten through third grade to the dangers of heat and
fire.
