Teacher Sally Paul dies at 81

Sally Paul, a teacher in the De-
troit Public Schools, died Sept. 17
at age 81.
Born in Detroit, Mrs. Paul was
at the Pasteur Elementary School
30 years and retired in 1965.

Detroiter of Studio City, Calif.,
died Sept. 15. Survived by a son,
Harold of Canoga Park, Calif.; a
daughter, Mrs. Elaine
Stepanovitch of Honolulu,

IDA (STEIN) KARP, 83, died
Sept. 13. She leaves a son, Harold
Stein; six grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.

Attorney Benjamin Brody dies

Benjamin F. Brody, an attorney
with offices in Southfield, died
Sept. 14 at age 37.
A native Detroiter, Mr. Brody
was graduated from the Univer-
sity of Michigan and Wayne State
University's School of Law (1972).
He was a member of Cong.

JENNIE LAWTON, 83, former
Detroiter of Sherman Oaks,
Calif., died Sept. 18. Survived by a
son, Emil A. of Sherman Oaks; a
daughter, Mrs. Edward (Tova-
Gladys) Dahlberg of Walled Lake;
and four grandchildren. Inter-
ment Detroit.

DORA (JAYE) JOSKOVITZ,
76, died Sept. 15. She leaves two
brothers, Joseph A. Jaye and Irv-
ing E. Jaye of Sherman Oaks,
Calif.

Engineer Julius Gershune dies

Julius W. Gershune, former
conveyor engineer for the Jervis
B. Webb Co., died Sept. 13 at age
"33.
Borrt in Russia, Mr. Gershune
lived 44 years in Detroit. He
started with the company in 1940
and retired in 1969. He was
graduated from the University of
Louisville (Ky.) School of
Engineering.

Sept. 16. He leaves his wife,
Esther; a son, Jay; two daughters,
Ronnie and Mrs. Debrah Joseff;

EUGENE GROSSMAN, 81, of
Southfield, died Sept. 15. Sur-
vived by his wife, Celia; a son,
Ronald David of Princeton, N.J.;
and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Katz.

Store owner Woloveck dies

Edward Woloveck, founder and
owner of Shoe Time Shoes, died
Sept. 15.
Born in Russia, Mr. Woloveck
ived 47 years in Detroit. He
founded the business in 1970, sold
and retired in 1980.
He was a buyer fo•Russek's and
Winkelman's from 1947 to 1970.
lie was a charter member of Tern-
le Emanu-El and a former
ember of the board of the temple

Detroiter of Las Vegas, Nev., died
