lines. In 1970, Israel Investors
Corp. took over Maskit. _
Maskit's fashion designers
have borrowed ideas from the
many Israeli immigrants as well
as the local Bedouins who have
preserved the fashions of an-
tiquity. Simultaneously, modern
international fashions have swept
over Israel. All of these influences
have fused and mingled in Israeli
designs.
In the 1984 Bond fashion show,
Maskit designs include cotton
weskit and knicker ensembles,
embroidered with golden threads.
All Maskit's fashions are hand-
sewn and hand finished. The
materials are exclusively hand-
woven.
Maskit is one of 14 Israeli de-
signers participating in the '84
fashion show. Shown also will be
haute couture designs by Diva,
Oberson, Gottex, Niba, Gideon
Oberson for "Sixteen Plus," Gaby
Model, Helen Knits, Tadmor,
Yovel for Rimka, Beged-Or, Oded
Gera, Tamara Jones and Lisa
Boker.
In addition, Northland Center
will show a fall collection of the
best of American designers, from
the fashion houses of Calvin
Klein, Perry Ellis, Ralph Lauren,
Albert Nipon and Anne Klein.
