50th anniversary

At a recent reception,and
dinner held at the
Sheraton-Southfield Hotel,
Mr. and Mrs. Louis (Olga)
Menk of Southfield cele-
brated their 50th wedding
anniversary. Out of town
guests came from Califor-
nia, Florida, New Hamp-
shire, New Jersey and New
York.
The Menks have two
daughters, Frances Menk of
Morristown, N.J., and Doris
Lunsky. The Menks have
two grandchildren.
The Menks came to De-
troit in 1942 from New York
where Menk had been a
member of the faculty at
New York University's
School of Architecture for
14 years. He joined the firm
of Albert Kahn Associates,
Architects and Engineers,
as project manager retiring
in 1976 as vice president,
treasurer and member of
the firm's board of directors.
Among the local projects
on which he was principal
are Sinai Hospital and
Borman Hall. His local
community activities in-
clude the Jewish Welfare
Federation and the Ameri-
can Society for Technion.
He also is a member of the

elected a fellow in 1969 and
the Michigan Society of Ar-
chitects which awarded him
its gold medal in 1971.
Mrs. Menk is active in the
Sinai Hospital Guild,
Hadassah and Women's
American ORT. She was
president of the Detroit
Chapter of the American
Jewish Congress and, for a
number of years, was an
active volunteer at Sinai
Hospital. Prior to her mar-
riage, Mrs. Menk was a
fashion model.
