Mort Crim, WDIV-TV
newsman, will be the fea-
tured speaker at Temple
Emanu-El Sisterhood's in-
stallation luncheon at 11:45
a.m. Monday at the temple.
Crim is a television and
radio journalist, author, lec-
turer and host of the weekly
TV talk show, "Mort Crim's
Free for All."
Crim was a news an-
chorman in Louisville,
Philadelphia and in
Chicago. He was a national
radio network newscaster
and correspondent with
ABC.
He received six Emmy
awards, including one in
1978 , for investigative re-
porting, one in 1979 for
television commentary and
another in 1981 for his eve-
ning newscast and talk
show.
Crim holds under-
graduate degrees from the
University of Nebraska,
Alan Hancock College, and
a Master of Science degree
in journalism from North-
western University's Medill
School. He was graduated
with honors from North-
western in 1965, and re-
ceived the university's Har-
rington Award for outstand-
ing promise in the field of
journalism. Crim was
elected to Kappa Tau
Alpha.
In 1971 the Uni'versity of
Nebraska named him its
outstanding journalism
alumnus. In June 1974,
Crim was awarded an hon-
orary Doctor of Letters de-
gree by Anderson Collbge,
Anderson, Ind., where he
serves as a member of the
board of directors. Crim also
serves on the board of direc-
, for the Merrill Palmer
and the Detroit
Press Club.
In 1973, Crim founded a
radio and television pro-
gram production company.
He served as its chairman
and chief executive until
selling the company in
1978, but remains a
member of its board of direc-
tors and a consultant.
Crim's topic will be "Your
TV Screen: Is It Too Small?"
