ADL fights
second creche

New York — The Anti-
Defamation League of B'nai
B'rith has asked a U.S. ap-
peals court to uphold the
constitutional right of the
Nf _nage of Scarsdale, N.Y. to
ban a privately-sponsored
nativity scene in a public
park during Christmas.
In an amicus curiae
(friend-of-the-court) brief
- filed three weeks after the
U.S. Supreme Court upheld
the right of Pawtucket, R.I.
to display a nativity scene
on private property, ADL
said to permit the display of
the creche on public land in
_ Scarsdale would go far be-
yond what the high court
sanctioned in Pawtucket.

Jews in film

New York — Hollywood
still has a decidedly Jewish
tint, although much of the
community is religiously
inactive, according to a
study done by the Institute
on International Change.
‘--, The study revealed that
62 percent of the people in-
volved in the American film
industry since 1965 were
raised in the Jewish faith,
but most were not practic-
ing Jews.
