outstanding . . . not a single
bone . . . pardon the error
. . . there was one . . . So
many little touches . . . like
finger bowls after courses,
crumb remover roller on the
tablecloth, change of water.
The new low prices at To-
pinka's Country House are
also a conversation piece on
many lips these days.
Folks aren't taking To-
pinka's Country House for
granted anymore . . .
they're starting to , re-
member it again when
going out to dine.
SCOOPERMARKET in
Orchard Place Center, Or-
chard Lake Rd. between 13
and 14 Mile, is a not so new
place . . . still owned by
Steve • Levine, whose ambi-
tion for a unique kind of
bulk food- .store was origi-
nally called Natural Ingre-
dients . . . He wanted a
different name that better
described the kind of store it
is, so a contest resulted in
Scoopermarket . . . with ev-
erything from soup to nuts
to carob peanut butter to
dried fruit to cake mixes,
etc.
The fun comes in knowing
you can serve yourself from
the clear plexiglass
gins to measuring just the
amount- of food wanted .. .
All ingredients are clearly
listed and recipes located by
each mix so folks can buy
what they need . . . About
950 different varieites have
about 19 various flours, 12
kinds of nuts, 17 soup
mixes, 22 teas and so much
more . . . It's an exciting
kind of shopping experi-
ence.
National Council of
Jewish Women of Greater
Detroit kicked off Steve's
Fall Gala Baking Event re-
cently with recipes from
their already noted "Fiddler
In The Kitchen" cookbook
for free sampling . . . with
ingredients all from
Scoopermarket.

(101/2 Mile) in Majestic
Shopping Center, is Sin-
bad's Cafe . . . one of the few
places in the nation (if not
the world) that serves a
different rice everyday with
its meals ... very. unusual
and most satisfying ...
What Sinbad's does with
rice is a very rare treat ...
Four of the days it contains
chicken or meat or both ...
but always different herbs
each day.
Sinbad's is presently just
tables seating about 50 ...
but offering Middle-East
food that takes a backseat to
few.
Sinbad's is set back on
west side of Lahser ... but
you can see its big lighted
sign against the building
. open seven days ...
Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.

11 a.m. to midnight.
