NJH/NAC Benefit Thursday

s A benefit dinner Thurs-
day at the Westin Hotel/
Renaissance Center will
honor Dean E. Richardson,
chairman and chief execu-
tive officer of Manufactur-
ers National Bank of De-
troit, and raise funds for the
National Jewish Hospital
and Research Center/
National Asthma Center
(NJH/NAC).
The benefit for the
Denver-based respiratory
and immune disease center
will begin with a reception
at 6 p.m. followed by the
dinner program at 6:45 p.m.
Entertainment will be pro-
vided by Le Clique, a mime

troupe.

Chairman for this
year's benefit is Walter J.
McCarthy Jr., chairman
of Detroit Edison. Trea-
surer is David Handle-
man, chairman of The
Handleman Co., and
journal chairman is Stan-
ley Winkelman, chair-
man of the Winkelman
Stores, Inc.
Proceeds from the benefit
will help fund patient care,
research and medical edu-
cation programs at the med-
ical center.

Vegetable Quiche
1 9-inch unbaked pie crust

3 tbsps. vegetable oil
1/4 lb. sliced mushrooms
1 chopped onion
2 chipped peppers
1 tomato, diced
8 ozs. munster cheese
1 tbsp. minced garlic
4 eggs
1 tbsp. flour
2 cups half & half cream
Saute onions, peppers, to-
mato and mushrooms. Place
in pie crust. Arrange slices of
cheese on top. Beat together
rest of ingredients. Pour over
cheese. Bake at 375 degrees
for 40 minutes. Serves 6.
