Israel-S. Africa
Ties Hit at UN
UNITED NATIONS
(JTA) — The General As-
sembly overwhelmingly
adopted a resolution con-
demning Israel for its al-
leged cooperation with
South Africa, especially in
the military and nuclear
areas. The vote last week
was 113-18 with 10 absten-
tions.
The resolution, adopted
as part of a series of resolu-
tions dealing with apar-
theid, demanded that Israel
sever all ties with South-Af-
rica, in particular, its "nu-
clear and military" coopera-
tion. It also urged all
member-states to pressure
Israel to cut its relation-
ships with South Africa.
