ADASSAH IS TODAY, as it has been since
1912, Israel's medical pace-setter in healing,
teaching and research. We were the first to bring
modern medical care to the Land and Old City
of Jerusalem. We established its first nurses
training, medical and dental schools, public health and social
welfare systems, and introduced medical equipment and techni-
ques that made possible the first complete center for cancer care
and many other "firsts." The core of the Medical Center, with
facilities at Kiryat Hadassah and Mt Scopus in Jerusalem, is a
University teaching hospital of special excellence, utilizing the
most modern western standards, the best skilled personnel, and
facilities and services that represent the latest in medical
technololy and treatment in the world.

parallel, Youth Aliyah has integrated into the
life and land of Israel 170,000 youngsters from
80 lands. Since its beginning, over 45 years ago,
Hadassah has cared about and cared for those
who have turned to Youth Aliyah for physical and spiritual sur-
vival. Sensitive always to the changing needs of successive waves
of children—from the first pre-war group of German youngsters
in 1934 to the homeless destitute waifs of the Holocaust, to those
now seeking rescue from oppression and disadvantage-
Hadassah remains one of the largest organizational contributors
in the world to Youth Aliyah, providing monies for the general
maintenance fund and making extra allocations to special in-
stitutions.

For nearly 70 years Hadassah has been unique in its sensitivity and response to the needs
of the Jewish people in Israel and elsewhere. Your help is crucial. We hope we can count
on it. All gifts to Hadassah are tax-deductible.
