Cash Drive for Bonds Started

• The Metro Detroit Com-
mittee for Israel Bonds is
undertaking a special cash
collection campaign as part
of a nationwide effort to
reach in December the $6
billion figure in cash pro-
ceeds for Israel's economic
development since the In-
ception of the Bond Organ-
ization in 1951. The an-
nouncement was made by
Harold Beznos, cash collec-
tion chairman.
Beznos will be assisted by
many volunteers, including
members of the Israel Bond
Women's Division who have
begun a telephone cash col-
lection campaign.
"This intensive effort to
convert all unpaid Israel
Bond commitments into
cash for Israel is being con-
ducted to assure that
urgently-needed Bond dol-
lars will help to offset the
effect on Israel's economy of
the Lebanon operation,"

(IAI) hopes to begin test-
flying its new executive jet
— the Astra 1125 — in
about six months.
The jet is described by its
designers and manufactur-
ers as the "executive jet of
the future" whose "super:
critical wing" will give
greater range, altitude and
speed than the present
Westwind executive jet it is
to replace.
The Westwind has cap-
tured some 26 percent of the
American market for execu-
tive jets. Over 200 planes
have been sold in the four
years it has been produced.
