Israel Tour
WASHINGTON — Stan-
ley N. Zwaik, national
commander of the Jewish
War Veterans of the U.S.A.,
announced the organiza-
tion's special tour to Israel,
Feb. 13-24, culminating in
the Third World Assembly
of Jewish War Veterans.
The tour, which will in-
clude visits to new army
bases in the Negev and to
newly opened archeological
excavations, will climax
with the three-day Third
World Assembly of Jewish
War Veterans in
Jerusalem. Briefings will be
conducted by President Yit-
zhak Navon, Prime Minis-
ter Menahem Begin, Maj.
Gen. Aharon Yariv, Prof.
Yigal Yadin and Prof. Paul
Wilkinson.

Leonel Brizola, a former

the armed forces, is a turn-
ing point in Brazilian his-
tory," according to Rabbi
Henry I. Sobel of Cong. Is-
raelita Paulista in Sao
Paulo.
Speaking at the Herzl In-
stitute of the World Zionist
Organization — American
Section, Rabbi Sobel said
that democratic institutions
were far from common in
Latin American countries
and that "the victory of the
democratic forces will help
insure a greater participa-
tion of Jews in the political
and social arena of Brazil."
