Touch and Go — The
40-year-old woman spent an
hour at the bottom of a pit
into which she had fallen in
Safed, while a group of Gur

debated how to get her out
without touching her. They
finally overcame their reli-

a hand.

"Why isn't your son at the
front in Lebanon?" One ruf-

How to Prevent Acci-

Shlomo Loewenberg, for a

While you're not driving,
you can't be involved in any
accidents."

but the winner was peace.
What's More Impor-

the state, a group of newly-
arrived immigrant children
from Yemen were being
given IQ tests. A picture
they were shown depicted a
man with only one eye, and
they were asked to indiCate
what was missing. Almost
all of them replied: "Payot"
(earlocks).
Jumping to Conclu-
sions — The parents of 11-
year-old Iris Naim of Kiryat
Gat were frantic when their
daughter failed to return
home with her classmates
from an all-day hike in the
Judean desert. A search was
begun at once, but close to
midnight a couple of men
drove the girl to her home,
and she reported they had
found her in the hills and
had gone out of their way to
return her.
The relieved mother
blurted out: "Thank God!
What if she had been found
by Arabs! Who knows what
could have happened to
her:" To which the two men
replied quitely: "Lady, we
are Arabs!"
