NEW YORK — Several
hundred PLO terrorists
may be added to the 1,200-
man Palestine Liberation
Army brigade operating in
Jordan under Jordanian
control.
Newsweek magazine said
this week that the unit
serves as a symbol of coop-
eration between the PLO's
Yasir Arafat and King Hus-
sein, but is not permitted to
operate against Israel.

NEW YORK — The Is-
rael tourism industry,
which did $960 million in
business last year, is suffer-
ing a 15 percent decline be-
cause of the war in Lebanon.
The New York Times this
week quoted tourism offi-
cials in Israel as saying
Jerusalem had 1.7 million
visitors from January to
September, 1981, but only
1.5 million for the same
period this year.
Zvi Rimon, a spokesman
for the Tourism Ministry,
'blamed European press re-
ports on the war in Lebanon
for the decline. Officials
said the shutdown of El Al
Israel Airlines has corn-
pounded the problem.
