Correction
An item in last week's
Jewish News regarding
the announcement of the
naming of Dr. Martin Hart
as the winner of this year's
Frank Wetsman Award of
the Jewish Welfare Fed-
eration was in error. It
should have read that
Norman Pappas an-
nounced the honor for Dr.
Hart at the Bar-Ilan
dinner. The Jewish News
regrets the error.
Schwartz said that part of
the JWV's credo is to
"preserve the memory of our
departed comrades and that
means making sure that
gravesites are marked." He
said that this program in-
cludes checking that graves
of veterans are not neg-
lected. On holidays, flags
are placed on the sites.
Schwartz added that the
Veterans Administration
picked up the cost of the
headstone, while the JWV
paid for the concrete base.
