Price of Trees to Go Up
With the Oct. 1 deadline
approaching for the two-
thirds increase in the cost of
planting 100 or more trees
in Israel through the Jewish
National Fund, now is the
time to secure trees at the
old price.
The increase will affect
the cost of gardens of 100
trees ($300 to $500); groves
of 1,000 trees ($3,000 to
$5,000); woodlarids of 2,500
trees ($7,500 to $12,500);
and forests of 10,000 trees
($30,000 to $50,000).
Trees in lots of 1,000 or
more may be secured
with a down payment of
one-quarter the cost of
the lot, with up to three
years to pay the balance.
Trees have played a vital
role in the development of
modern Israel. The trees
planted by the JNF have
transformed barren soil into
fertile land. Trees provide
