pects that a Detroit chap-
ter of Maccabi will be one
of the results of the trip.
"We want to build a new
Jew," he said, "a tough,
dedicated Zionist."
Towards this goal, par-
ticipants on the Detroit
team were selected on the
basis of committment to the
ideals of the Maccabi
movement, ability to ad-
mirably represent Detroit,
and athletic ability.
The Detroit contingent
will participate in soccer,
tennis, swimming, tennis
and racquetball.
Coaches for the De-
troiters include head coach
Marty Oliff, tennis; Leslie

soccer; and Allan Kaczan-
der, basketball.
Team members are:
Soccer — Burton
Brodsky, Mike Flashner,

Robinson, Joel Skolnick,

ganizing the Detroit par-
ticipation by Oliff, physical
education director at the
Center; Moroton Plotnick,
the center's executive direc-
tor; and Seymour Brode of

the Franklin Racquet Club.
Last Monday, the team
had the organizational
meeting at the Center. Par-

Kronik of Flint, a board
