Auditor General Lee Dies

Albert Lee, a certified
public accountant and cur-
rent auditor general for the
state of Michigan, died July
10 at age 71.

A native Detroiter, Mr.
Lee founded the firm of Al-
bert Lee and Co. in 1950 and
was auditor general for the
state for the past 17 years.

He was the secretary of
the Michigan State Board of
Accountancy. He held
membership in Cong. Beth
Achim, Harry B. Keidan
Lodge of Bnai Brith, Perfec-
tion Lodge of the Masons,
Belle Lichtig
Belle Lichtig, a member Moslem Temple and was a

Touro Stamp Due

NEW YORK (JTA) —
The Friends of the Touro
Synagogue, the oldest exist-
ing synagogue in the U.S.,
have reported that a Touro
Synagogue stamp will be is-
sued by the UN Postal Ser-
vice on Aug. 22.
The Postal Service deci-
sion to issue such a stamp,
disclosed in December 1980,
ended a 17-year dead-lock
over the proposal.

(JTA) — The Frends of

Lubavitch, a project
of
Rabbinical Colleg
America, has started a
dial-a-telephone project cal-
led "Dial '- A - Jewish - Bed-
time Story."
Rabbi Yosef Carlebach,
Director of Friends of
Lubavitch, said the new
telephone service is in addi-
tion to the Hasidic group's
"Dial - A - Jewish Concept"
for adults which he said had
been called by more than
50,000 persons during the
past four years.
