the BBYO talent show.
Michigan Region took
first place in 10 program-
of-the-year categories. Rose
AZA won for its work with
the Jewish Association for
Retarded Citizens as well as
its council-wide road rally;
Rishonah BBG and Ohr
Hashemesh BBG won for
their social action campaign
for Ida Nudel, a Soviet re-
fusnik; Brice BBG won for
its day at the Children's Vil-
lage; Shoshanna BBG won
for its chapter farm excur-
sion; Samson AZA and Sav-
age BBG won for their
"marriages" weekend at the
BBYO Milan Conference
Centre. Rose AZA and
Aliyah BBG won their
"Anti-Semitism" weekend,
also at the Milan Centre,
while Herzl AZA and
Yachad BBG of Windsor,
won for their "Nuremberg
Trial" oneg Shabat pro-
gram. The Great Lakes
AZA Council won for its
AZA-Bnai Brith Council,
wide sports program while
the Great Lakes BBG Coun-
cil for their BBG-BBW pro-
gram, "The Year of the
Woman."
The AZA Softball League
will meet Sunday at South-
field High School. At 9 a.m.,
Jolson AZA will play Beber
AZA; Ruach-Posen AZA
will play Rose AZA 2; and
Hart AZA will play Rose
AZA 1. At 10:30 a.m.,
Benny AZA will play Wal-
lenberg AZA; Akiba AZA
will play Goode AZA; and
Samson AZA will play
L'Chaim AZA. Rose AZA 1
holds first place with a 6-0
record while six other chap-
ters are tied for second place
with 4-2 records.

29th biennial convention of
the National Federation of
Temple Brotherhoods is
scheduled for Nov. 10-14 at
the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Daniel Mendoza won the
English heavyweight box-
ing title in 1792.
Cranbrook Senior Honored
Daniel Bromberg re-
ceived the faculty-senior
award of Cranbrook School.
The award is given to the
senior "who has made the
greatest total contribution
to Cranbrook School."
While at Cranbrook,
Bromberg received the Re-
nsselaer Polytechnic Insti-
tute Medal, the David
Knights Math Award and
the Alumni Math Award.
He also received a National
Merit Scholarship.
In his division, he is the
fourth ranking tennis
player in the state.
Bromberg is the recipient
of the University of Michi-
gan Regents - Alumni
Scholar Award.
Bromberg is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Steven Brom-
