RABBI MACY GORDON

Yeshiva University, having
received a BA degree in
sociology from the univer-
sity. He holds an MA degree
in guidance from Columbia
University, and earned a
doctorate in 1977 at
Yeshiva University in
Jewish education.
Upon
ordination,
Rabbi Gordon was in-
vited to serve on the fa-
culty of Yeshiva Univer-
sity as a lecturer in Tal-
mud and religious
studies. He has served
there continuously since
1956.
Dr. Gordon is a member of
the Rabbinical Council of
America, and serves as
chairman of its funeral
standards committee. He
has also served on its kas-
hrut committee and bio-
medical ethics committee,
as well as on its executive
board.
Active in the Soviet
Jewry movement, Rabbi
and Mrs. Gordon have vis-
ited the Soviet Union on be-
half of the Rabbinical Coun-
cil. Rabbi. Gordon now
serves as chairman of the
Rabbinical Council of Be-
rgen County, and vice
president of the Rabbinical
Council of New Jersey; a
member-of the board of trus-
tees of Moriah School of
Englewood, as well as its
education committee; and a
member of the medical
ethics commission of the
New York Federation of
Jewish Philanthropies,
During the course of his
rabbinic ministry, Rabbi
Gordon has also served on
various commissions in-
volved in Orthodox Jewish
youth movements, and is a
frequent participant in
youth leadership seminars.

Shabat Saturday. The
entire Shabat service in-
cluding Torah reading will
be led by the teens.
