LISTENING
POST

BEGINNING OF a dou-
ble celebration was recent
Bat Mitzva of Cheryl Dawn
Weiss . . . Next day was
open house at home of her
rrandparents, Irving and
4.4'aye Slutsky, honoring
-\---7— Grandmother Faye's birth-
day.
Cheryl is quite .a young
gal . . . In the eighth grade
at Roosevelt Middle School,
fi Oak Park, where she is
among the few dynamo gals
with a wonderful 4.0 aver-
age . . . She also recently
won a spelling contest for
the entire school.
PERFECTION LODGE
has finally received permis-
sion from Grand Lodge to
move from Masonic Temple
. . . First Perfection meet-
ing in its new home will be
June 9 . . . at Ferndale
Masonic Temple, 1810
) 0
Planavon, off Nine Mile, a
long block west of Wood-
ward . . . Jerry Herwitz is
Perfection Worshipful Mas-
ter.
ON RECENT 70th
birthday, Paul Zuckerman
> _
was told about his looking
so good and so healthy . .
"Who's got time to get old?"
said Paul, one of the busiest
Jewish philanthropic
people in the world.
20-YEAR REUNION
committee of Oak Park
High 1963 graduating class
is searching for its alumni
. . . Call Rita Forbes Gold-
ing, 559-1456, or Barbara
Stern Fink, 661-4888.
THANKS TO . . . Saul
Horowitz . . for the photo-
stat copies from Hutchins
Intermediate yearbook of
1933 . . . At least I was
given an alias in the book as
David Raskin . . but guys
like Saul and Al "Sonny"
Goldstein among others had
no protection with their cor-
rect names under pictures
that look like they should
have a number on them . . .
and be hung in post offices
. . . Saul and Sonny are so
much better looking today
. . . Time has been real
good to them.
I WAS LUCKY to even
get a seat in the balcony
. . . That's how packed Oak
Park High was for the first
night performance (there
were two nights) of "The
ci Maven" put on by Galilee
Bnai Brith Women.
You could tell the girls
t a lot of hard work into
heir amateur production
. . . and much of the audi-
ence was happier because of
it . . Besides doing a
commendable job acting
and singing, a lot of credit
goes for the fine word
parodies on song hits, clever
lighting, professional scen-
ery and costumes.
The girls of Galilee Chap-
ter, Bnai Brith, deserve a
big hand for their wonderful
efforts in presenting a
quick-paced, almost flaw-
less production that
brought laughter, joy and
entertainment to many
