Local Jewish Women's Groups Represented in Cook Book

Lorna Rubin devoted two
years to gathering material
for a cook book that gained
high rating so speedily that
it became a June selection of
the Jewish Book Club.
She gathered her mate-
rial from 120 cook books,
four of them being from
Michigan Jewish women's
organizations.
Under the title "The Cho-
sen: Appetizers and Des-
serts" (Triad' Publishing
Co.), the cook book contains
the treasured selections
which include the most
enticing in the delicacies
she selected.
Marilyn Stone edited
the book and the attrac-
tive illustrations are by
Lea Gabbay.
The project of the Sister-
hood of Bnai Israel Congre-
gation in Gainesville, Fla.,
the innovators, Lorna
Rubin and Lenore Freeman,
sisterhood members, are
also associated with Triad
Publishers. Triad has an-
nounced that all profits
from the book go to the Bnai
Israel Sisterhood.
Michigan contributions
include recipes from Temple
Beth Emeth Sisterhood of
Ann Arbor's "Cook With
Temple Beth Emeth"; Ann
Arbor Chapter of Hadas-
sah's "Like Mama Used to
Make"; Beth Israel Sister-
hood of Flint's "Menu
Magic"; and Batya Chapter
of American Mizrachi
Women's "All the Recipes
You Wanted. to Borrow But
Were Afraid to Ask."

sented cook books and their

Maxwell House® Coffee
Is After Shopping Relaxation.

Shopping for a "good buy" has be-
come one of America's favorite pas-
times. It's always fun to find new
things, see the new fashions and
perhaps pick up something new for
the house or family.

Another favorite pastime is to come
home from shopping, kick off the
shoes and relax with a good cup of
coffee. Maxwell House® Coffee. The
full-pleasant aroma and great-
tasting, satisfying flavor is
the perfect ending
to a busy shop-
ping day. Espe-
cially when
relaxing with

-

a close friend. The good talk. The
good feelings. The warmth are some
of the things that go along with
Maxwell House! Perhaps that's why
many Jewish housewives don't 'shop'
for Maxwell House! They simply
buy it. It's the "smart buy" as any
balabusta knows! -
So, no matter what your prefer-
ence—instant or ground—when
you pour Maxwell House! you pour
relaxation. At its best...consis-
tently cup after cup after cup.
