Four Arrested
at Nazi Rally
in Birmingham

A confrontation between
a Nazi group and anti-Nazi
demonstrators resulted in
one injury and four arrests
last Saturday in Birming-
ham.
The melee occurred at
about 1:45 p.m. as both
groups attempted to hold
demonstrations in Shain
Park, according to Bir-
mingham police.
A Nazi leader identified
as John Reich was struck
with a bottle and suffered a
cut across the forehead.
Four of the eight Nazis
were arrested. Two were
charged with assault and
two were charged with
malicious destruction of
property, police said. The
anti-Nazi group was esti-
mated to have about 50
people.
