day will include round-trip
transportation by bus,
snacks while on the bus,
entrance to the park and
dinner on the way home.
Everyone is welcome, and
should bring a bagged dairy
lunch. Beverage will be
provided. Participants
should bring spending
money and a jacket.
Applications must be
submitted by June 8 to the
synagogue office. There is a
nominal charge. For infor-

Camp Care Packages are
available at the synagogue

Tait and Tefilin Club
will meet 8:30 a.m. Sun-

Junior congregation will
see the Detroit Tiger
baseball game June 6, meet-
ing in the board room at
11:15 a.m. Everyone should
bring a bagged dairy lunch,
spending money and a jac-
ket. Tickets are available to
all members on a first-come,
first-serve basis. There is a
nominal charge. For re-
quired reservations or in-

The youth department is
taking reservations for its
annual CPR class to be
taught June 17 and 24. Both
nights are required for pass-
ing. Michael Sabes, a volun-
teer for the Heart Associa-
tion will teach the class.
Everyone is welcome, and
there is no charge. The class
will be conducted at 7 p.m.
in the social hall. For reser-
vations or information, call
Mrs. Levine.
Youth services are held
at 10 a.m. Saturday for
youngsters of all ages,
beginning with the
Shabat Nursery Pro-
gram. The group is for
children up to age 3, and
there is no charge.
Reservations are not re-
quired. Story Hour wel-
comes children age 3-6
and offers Shabat stories,
songs and games. Both
groups meet in the school
wing.
Youngsters age 7-13 are
welcome in junior congrega-
tion for services and dis-
cussions in the chapel. USY
Services are for persons in
grades seven-12 and meet in
the board room, for services
and discussions. Refresh-
ments are served.

Philip Hart AZA
topped Gen. Maurice Rose
AZA 30-29 in the cham-
pionship game of the AZA
basketball league. Mem-
bers of the winning team re-
ceived AZA basketball
medals and the Avram
"Bud" Charlip Memorial
Trophy which was pre-
sented by Eliot Charlip and
Maynard Kalef. In the
semi-finals Hart had de-
feated Goode AZA and Rose
had defeated Samson AZA.
The AZA softball league
meets on Sunday mornings
through Aug. 8 at South-
field High. Playing at 9 a.m.
Sunday are: Goode AZA vs.
L'Chaim AZA; Rose AZA 1
vs. Samson AZA; and Wal-
lenberg AZA vs. Rose AZA
2. At 10:30 a.m. Sunday,
Jolson AZA vs. Posen AZA;

Scout Troop
Seeks Members

Boy Scout Troop 23, the
only Jewish Scout troop in
Michigan, is conducting a
membership drive.
The group, which meets 7
p.m. Wednesdays at Temple
Beth El, has been in exist-
ence for more than 50 years.
Among its summer
schedule of activities, the
troop includes: a court of
honor, 7 p.m. June 23, Tem=
ple Beth El; hike, 8:30 a.m.,
June 27, meeting at the
temple; D Bar A Scout
Ranch, July 31-Aug. 8.
Plans are in the offing to
begin a CPR course for, Sc-
outs, their parents and
families.

The annual AZA-BBG
Council Installation will
take place 7:30 p.m. June 10
at Adat Shalom Synagogue.
The theme of the evening is
"A Past To Grow On, A Fu-
ture To Build." The evening
also will include the pre-
sentation of council awards
and a dance. Coordinators
for the program are Julie
Weil of Savage BBG and
Rick Mintz of Ruach AZA.
All members of AZA and
BBG are invited. Admission
is nominal.
