Dr. Tsvi Nussbaum is a
practicing surgeon in Rock-
land, N.Y.
He was that little boy in
the terrifying photo, hands
held high on Nazi orders,
during the Hitlerite bes-
tialities in Warsaw. He was
a guest here Sunday eve-
ning at the annual Israel
Bonds dinner sponsored by
Einstein Lodge and Chapter
of Bnai Brith, held at Adat
Shalom Synagogue.
The 170 in attendance
were inspired by him to
renew their devotion to
Israel, with purchases of
more than $670,000 in Is-
rael Bonds.
It was the deeply-moving
effect of his presence that si-
lently reminded the
gathered, most of them also'
survivors from the Nazi ter-
rors, of the little boy's back-
ground. But he did not
speak of it. He spoke about

Israel and the duties to the _
Jewish state.
The Nussbaum address
was filled with facts regard-
ing Israel's accom-
plishments and the needs
which impel action and
American Jewry's partici-
pation in all efforts inbehalf
of the Jewish state.
Henry Dorfman, as
toastmaster, engineered a
successful evening in Is-
rael's behalf, with his own
generous participation and
the encouragement he eli-
cited for Israel Bonds activi-
ties.
The evening was
planned in honor of
Thelma Isaacs and Sig-
munt_Rubin, who were
presented with the Israel
Lion of Judah and New
Life awards, respec-
tively.
The presentations were
made by Shragai Cohen of
New York, national' Israel
Bonds executive director of
congregational and organ-
izational planning activi-
ties.
Program participants in-
cluded Norman Allan and
several active leaders in the
Shaarit Haplaytah organ-
ization of survivors.
Of special interest is the
continuing participation in
the Einstein function of Eric
Rosenow, also a survivor
from Nazism and an active
participant in the survivors'
functions in the past
qliarter-Lcentury. He ap-
peared at Sunday's event
with his orchestra, reviving
interest in ghetto and othei-
musical selections.

Shown at the Einstein Israel Bond tribute dinner
are, from left, Henry Dorfman, honoree Thelma
Isaacs, speaker Dr. Tsvi Nussbaum, honoree Sigmunt
Rubin and Shragai Cohen.
