The residents contend the
home will lower their prop-
erty values and claim they
were not given notification
in advance of the sale.
The Pleasant Ridge City
Commission passed a reso-
lution prepared by the resi-
dents asking the state to
reimburse residents for any
property value losses, re-
strict group homes to multi-
ple family zoned sites or
areas approved by
neighbors, limit homes to
three residents, inform
neighbors b6fore a home is
purchased or leased, and re-
strict the purchase price.
Joyce Keller, JARC
executive director, said
residents of the area were
given a chance to visit the
home but only 25
attended the open house.
She has asked members
of JARC to write state of-
ficials and elected repre-
sentatives on behalf of
the retarded.
Miss Keller said that the
JARC has followed proper
procedures in the purchase
of the home, has invited the
opposing residents to visit
other JARC homes and says
the JARC is supported by
other Pleasant Ridge resi-
dents.
The six retarded persons
are scheduled to move into
the home within two
months.

MISS OZROVITZ
The pious man waits an
hour before praying, and
concentrates his thoughts
upon the Lord: even if a king
greets him, he should not
answer; and even if a snake
winds around his head, the
pious supplicant should not
interrupt his prayer.
