Temple Emanu-El Sis-
terhood will hold its annual
donor luncheon 11 a.m.
April 19 at the temple.
Entitled "Come Into Our
Kitchen and Catch a Rising
Star," the activities will in-
clude a culinary demonstra-
tion by Chef Duglass and
his "heir apparent," Pat-
rick, to be followed by a
gourmet luncheon,, includ-
ing dishes prepared from
Duglass' recipes..
Proceeds from the lunch-
eon will go to support sis-
terhood and temple projects,
including renovation of the
temple kitchen, camp
scholarships, educational
programs and gifts to

NEW YORK — A collec-
tion containing some 700
letters believed to have
been written by Heinrich
Himmler, chief of the Ges-
tapo and head of the Nazi SS
during World War II, has
been purchased by Chaim
Rosenthal, former consul
for cultural affairs at the Is-
rael Consulate in New
York.
Rosenthal paid $40,000
for the collection, which in-
cludes diaries kept by
Himmler's wife and daugh-
ter. The letters were in the
possession of a onetime Nazi
officer, now living in
Mexico.
