Mubarak Reiterates Intentions

NEW YORK — Egyptian
President Hosni Mubarak
on Sunday told columnist
Anthony Lewis in a New
York Times article that
Egypt has no intention of
reneging on its peace
agreement with Israel after
Israel completes its final
withdrawal from Sinai on
April 25.
"We are not going to

"THE MAVEN"
IS COMING

change anything," he said.
"We have sacrificed a lot for
peace. We don't intend to
overthrow it. We are look-
ing forward to much better
relations with Israel."
Mubarak said there are
no problems in the peace
process that cannot be over-
come and he said he was
sure that Israel would live
up to its end of the agree-
ment and withdraw on time.

He also denied claims
by Syrian President
Hafez Assad that Egypt
would return to the Arab
camp once it regains the
Sinai. "We signed a

treaty. There is a com-
plete withdrawal from
our territory. There are
diplomatic relations. We
are not ready to drop that
at all."

Mubarak added that As-
sad's statement is "his own
conception. I'm not ready to
ruin the interest of our
country. I think that is
enough to explain every-
thing."

Nearly $1.5 million has
been raised for CARE dur-
ing the last four years
through the sale of empty
food containers.

NEW YORK — American
Jewish military personnel,
their families, and patients
in Veterans Administration
hospitals will be able to
enjoy a traditional obser-
vance of the Passover holi-
day, thanks to the close
cooperation of the U.S.
Armed Forces, the VA,
Jewish Welfare Board,
Jewish chaplains and mili-
tary lay leaders.
Reflecting the growing
interest of Christians in the
significance of Passover is
the increasing number of
"teaching Sedorim" which
will be conducted by chap-
lains and lay leaders prior
to and during the Passover.
Sedorim and services will
be conducted by active-duty
and part-time chaplains
and lay leaders throughout
the world. Kosher supplies
and religious materials —
everything from Haggadot
and prayer books to matzot
and wine — are in place at
more than 500 installations
in continental United
States and overseas, VA
hospitals, and aboard ships
at sea.

The JWB Women's
Organizations' Services
distributed special Solo
Seder packages to
Jewish servicemen
stationed at isolated
areas throughout the
world, and to men on
duty at remote weatther
and radar stations. The
solo Seder packages con-
tain a Seder meal for one
person.
