Rabbi Halpern came to
the forerunner congrega-
tion, Beth Abraham, in
1949. He helped create the
men's club, the Breakfast
Forum, the sisterhood, the
Tefilin Club, the Young
Married Couples Club, the
Kalt Scholarship and the
junior congregation. He is
active in Jewish communal
causes and in the general
community.
Cantor Fuchs has been
the associate cantor and
musical director. Born in
Czechoslovakia, Cantor
Fuchs made aliya in 1936
and became- a member of
Hagana and continued his
musical studies. His "Song
of the Sea" was commis-
sioned by Kol Yisroel Radio.

he has organized and di-
rected the synagogue choir.
He also composed and pro-
duced many cantatas sung
by the Bat Mitzva girls. He
also created and directs the
ladies choir and the religi-
ous school's music program.
Cantor Ackerman joined
the synagogue in 1956.
Born in Romania, Cantor
Ackerman was trained at
the Kishinev Conservatory
of Music and at age 16 was
the guest Cantor at the
Great Synagogue of
Kishinev. He also chanted
the service in the Great
Moscow Synagogue and in

Baron de Rothchild and
