In the field of medicine,
the winners are Dr. Barbara
McClintock, of New York
and Prof. Stanley Cohen, of
Stanford University.
The winner in the
chemistry category is Prof.
Joseph Chatt, of the Uni-
versity of Sussex in Eng-
land.

HERZLIYA — The pre-
stigious Wolf Prizes will be
given to 11 scientists and
two artists in special cere-
monies at the Knesset on
Sunday.
The prizes, $100,000 in
each of five scientific discip-
lines and $100,000 in the
arts category, are given by
the Wolf Foundation, an or-
ganization designed to pro-
mote science and art "for the
benefit of mankind." The
organization was founded
by Dr. Ricardo Wolf and
chartered by the Knesset in
1976.
This year's art prize will
be shared by French painter
Marc Chagall and Antoni
Tapes, of Barcelona, Spain.
In agriculture, the
prize-winners are Prof.
John Almquist, of
Pennsylvania State Uni-
versity; Prof. Harry
Lardy, of the University
of Wisconsin; and Prof.
Glenn Salisbury, of the
University of Illinois.
The winners in the field of
mathematics are Profs.
Lars Ahlfors and Oscar
Zariski, both of Harvard
University.
In the physics category,
the winners are Prof.
Freeman Dyson of the Insti-
tute for Advanced StUdy in
Princeton, N.J.; Prof. Victor
Weisskopf, of the Mas-
sachusetts Institute of
Technology; and Prof.
Gerhardt Hooft, of the Uni-
versity of Utrecht, the
Netherlands.
