ADAT SHALOM youth
and education. department
sponsors Shabat services
every Saturday at 10 a.m.
Nitzanim and Makor meet
their respective leaders in
the foyer outside the
sanctuary and are taken to
the nursery for stories and
services.
Garinim will hold ser-
vices in the chapel. Shoresh
and Migdal Tzion United
Synagogue Youth conduct
services in the board room,
followed by a special
kidush.
Migdal Tzion USY will be
represented by Bruce
Frank, Libby Alpern,
Melissa Okun and Howard
Lupovitch at the fall board
meeting of Central Region
United Synagogue Youth.
The annual Hanuka
auction, sponsored by
the synagogue to benefit
the youth and education
department, will be held

2 p.m. Sunday in the so-
cial hall.
Hadas Reiter, treasurer
of Migdal Tzion USY, is
overseeing the auction. This
year's auction co-chairmen
are Michael Nachman and
Miriam Starkman of Mig-
dal Tzion and Pattie
Lieberman of Shoresh.
At 3 p.m. in the youth
lounge, there will be a spe-
cial auction for children
under age 12. Movies and
cartoons will be shown at
the children's auction. Re-
freshments for Hanuka may
be purchased, and there is
no admission charge. Pro-
ceeds from the auction will
benefit the youth groups'
activities at the synagogue.

in the synagogue. A latke
and ice cream party will be
on the agenda. A clown will
entertain, and there will be
a talent contest. Particip-

The junior congregation

Hour 10 a.m. Saturday.
Youth who celebrate their
birthdays in December will
be honored.
Applications for the
Tamarack weekends are
now available. Children
in grades three-six will go
to Tamarack on Jan.

congregation services.

Activities

Auditions for the regional
convention talent show will
take place 1 p.m. Sunday in
the Dubin Meeting Room at
the Bnai Brith. Building. All
chapters planning to enter
an act in the talent show
must be present for the au-
dition. For information, call

The Michigan BBYO reg-
ional convention will take
place Dec. 24-29 at the main
Jewish Community Center.
The theme of the convention
is, "We're Stepping Out .. .
Show Us the Way." Subjects
such as advanced education,
acceptance by others, start-
ing a family, establishing a
career, and success in life
will be covered.
The convention will also
consist of various interna-
tional and regional contests
in which chapters and their
members will compete on an
individual and team basis.
There will also be sports ac-
tivities, a talent show and a
formal dance. A special
BBG-only program will fea-
ture Myra Jacobs of the
March of Dimes who will
discuss women's health is-
sues.
Applications are availa-
ble from chapter presidents
or the BBYO office. Overall
coordinators are Sharon
Rich of Brice BBG and Gary
Naftaly of Rose AZA.
