Council of Orthodox Rabbis.
Funds raised during the
current appeal will be used
for construction costs and
first-year maintenance of
the eruv (an halakhically-
approved boundary within
which one may carry on
Shabat).
The education committee
is completeing work on an
information pamphlet and
classes will be organized to
teach the rules of the eruv.
The construction
committee is in the proc-
ess of contacting local
governments and public
utilities for their permis-
sion and approval of
their facilities for demar-
cation of the eruv.
Plans are to have the eruv
completed by early spring.

Lecture Series

Rabbi Sherwin Wine will
begin a lecture series on
"Egypt and the Middle
East" at 8:30 p.m. Monday
in the Birmingham Temple.
At Monday's lecture,
Rabbi Wine will speak on
"Egypt — After Sadat."
There is an admission

Cantor Kowarsky is a lyric
