Prof. Sidorsky also has
a strong background in
Jewish studies, having
received a degree in He-
brew literature from the
Jewish Theological Sem-
inary of America fol-
lowed by post-graduate
studies at the Hebrew
University in Jerusalem.
At various times, he has
taught Hebrew literature,

Jewish history and thought
at both the Jewish Theolog-
ical Seminary and the He-
brew Union College —
Jewish Institute of Reli-
gion. Among his publica-
tions in this area are "The
Future of The Jewish Com-
munity in America" and
"Essays in Human Rights."
Dr. Sidorsky has served
as chairman of the Ameri-
can Zionist Youth Founda-
tion and of the Adult Jewish
Education Commission of
Bnai Brith. He is also on
many boards including the
National Committee for
American Foreign Policy,
the Blaustein Institute for
Human Rights, the Na-
tional Jewish Welfare
Board and the editorial
committee of Midstream.
The Shaarey Zedek Cul-
tural Commission is headed
by Mrs. Walter L. Field, and
co-chaired by I. Murray
Jacobs. Walter L. Field is
honorary chairman, and
Ceil Kliger Ruda is chair-
man of public relations.

`Gemini' to Perform Sunday
in Shaarey Zedek Concert

"Gemini," the musical
duo comprised of brothers
Sandor and Laszlo
Slomovits, will perform for
the Cong. Shaarey Zedek
Active Stage series for chil-
dren 3 p.m. Sunday in the
synagogue. Born in Hun-
gary, the twin brothers
emigrated with their par-
ents in 1956 to Israel, where
they resided before moving
to the U.S.
Between them the
brothers play guitar, violin,
mandolin, pennywhistle
and a variety of percussion
instruments. Their reper-
toire includes traditional
songs from the U.S., Brit-
ain, Israel and Hungary.
The Slomovitses play
original songs in their
performances as well as
children's songs, love
songs, and offer their

views on being twins.

The second program in
the series, "Adventure in
Space," by Michael Horvit
and featuring the Piccolo
Opera Company, will be
presented 2 p.m. Nov. 29 in
the synagogue. At 3 p.m.
Jan. 31, the Wayne State
University Dance Company
will perform.

Rabbi Morton F. Yolkut at
the Bnai David Institute for
Adult Education 8:15 p.m.

in a series entitled "Jewish
Dilemmas in the '80s." The
series is open to the com-
munity without charge. For
